A strong experience in the automotive industry
Since November 24, 2020, Andreas Langsdorf has been actively supporting us as a consultant and coordinator of PAE activities in Rhineland-Palatinate. On behalf of the CCIGE, Andreas works on the implementation of the tasks of our project partner Fahrzeug-Initiative-Rheinland-Pfalz.
Andreas brings 25 years of management experience in the automotive industry in the fields of product development, production organization and quality management to his new role. He was active on the board of our project partner Fahrzeug-Initiative Rheinland-Pfalz from 2016 to 2020 and has access to a large network of contacts in the automotive industry in southwestern Germany.
Andreas’ first steps in the project
It has been 3 months since Andreas joined the PAE team. This is an opportunity to look back on his experience and his role within the project.
PAE (Orianne): Andreas, you have been actively involved in PAE for 3 months now. How do you like working for this project so far?
Andreas: I like it very much! In the last 3 months, I met a lot of interesting people and was able to work with some of the project members. I specially appreciate the acceptance and familiarization with the team! I would like to thank all project members for their acceptance into the PAE team and for their helpful support. The Fahrzeug-Initiative Rheinland-Palatinate, in particular the board of directors, has also been very helpful in familiarizing me with the PAE project. I would especially like to thank Vincent, Marie-Chantal and Myrèse, who gave me excellent training and support during the first months!
PAE (Orianne): Which actions of the project are you responsible for in Rhineland-Palatinate?
Andreas: In Rhineland-Palatinate I am responsible for the coordination and implementation of the project actions :
- 3.1 Competence database,
- 3.2 Organisation of transnational automotive events,
- 4.1 International cooperation
- 6.2 Visits of technology companies
In addition, I support the actions 5.1 Future Congress, 6.3 Definition of Training Programmes and 7 Development of the Future Internationalisation Strategy.
PAE (Orianne): What do you see as the biggest challenge in the project?
Andreas: The biggest challenges for me are the Covid pandemic and the many project partners from four different countries in the Greater Region.
Events currently cannot take place as planned or can at best be done online. Unfortunately, even despite the vaccination and testing offensive, it is not clear when we will be able to work together and meet again as usual. The pandemic will probably keep our project and our lives busy for quite a longer time!
On the other hand, I see the cooperation with many project partners from different countries as a great challenge, especially for the project management. It requires a lot of empathy but also time to reconcile the different interests of the many project members. Especially since the personal meetings have not been possible for quite some time. Vincent is doing a great job coordinating everyone!
PAE (Orianne): What is your motivation for participating in the PAE project?
Andreas: I particularly like the project idea of making the Greater Region a center of attraction for the automotive industry. Our work can thus secure existing jobs and create new ones. The current structural change and transformation of the automotive industry towards new innovative products, modern production and new business models offers many opportunities for the Greater Region. Making the most of these opportunities is what I want to work on in the PAE project.
PAE (Orianne): Andreas, thank you very much for your answers. I wish you geat success in the project and a lot of fun working with the PAE team!
Andreas: Thank you very much, I wish that to all of us!
