The Commercial Vehicle Cluster Southwest networks partners from business, science and politics to strengthen the southwest of Germany, and in particular Rhineland-Palatinate, as a leading center of excellence for the commercial vehicle industry.

CVC Nutzfahrzeug GmbH, based in Kaiserslautern, operates the cluster management of the Commercial Vehicle Cluster. In this role, it networks partners from business, science and politics in order to establish the southwest of Germany and in particular Rhineland-Palatinate as the leading center of excellence for the commercial vehicle industry. The cluster currently comprises around 90 partners, which are primarily assigned to the sub-sectors of trucks, agricultural and construction machinery.

Since March 2008, the cluster initiative has been organized as a GmbH in the form of a PPP from Daimler AG, John Deere-Lanz Verwaltungs-GmbH, Grammer AG, IAV GmbH Ingenieurgesellschaft Auto und Verkehr, ITK Engineering GmbH and the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The services offered by the cluster management relate to the design of the transfer of information and knowledge between the partners, to the creation of framework conditions for the targeted networking of the cluster actors and to the initiation and implementation of cluster-wide strategy processes for the commercial vehicle industry.

CVC Southwest is a methodological partner of the PAE project.
