Discover the testimony of Christian Faivre, President of ER INGENIERIE, a company specialized in the study and realization of special machines and industrial installations.

In a few lines, can you present your company, its activities, products and key figures?

ER INGENIERIE has been specialized for more than 33 years in the study, simulation, design, realization, installation, implementation, retrofit and maintenance of special machines and industrial equipment (mechanized/automated/robotized and connected production lines, supervision, virtual reality, 3D uncovery, etc.).

We support Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive subcontractors in the implementation of their automated and robotized production means.

Our head office in Maxéville employs 45 people for a turnover of about 6.5M€. Depending on the year and the project, 30 to 70% of the turnover is realized in export.

The automotive industry is undergoing major changes (energy and digital transitions, etc.). In the face of these changes, what are your perspectives for future developments?

For several years now, we have been recognized as a provider of 4.0 solutions.

French Fab certified, we design agile and flexible production means, connected via IoT solutions (Internet of Thinks), optimized thanks to virtual 3D simulation, intelligent and functioning in network internally and in a collaborative way with Man (factory 5.0).

Our job is to provide our customers with solutions to innovate and modernize their production processes and tools to meet the fast changes in the sector.

The automotive industry is an important sector and represents a key market within the Greater Region. What advantage(s) do you find in being located in the heart of this territory?

The industrial culture of our territory, particularly regarding the automotive industry, has enabled companies to become familiar with the requirements of the sector and its strong constraints, which constantly push for adaptability and innovation in order to remain competitive, to preserve our jobs and to encourage (re)location in the Greater Region.

What can a project like PAE bring to companies in the automotive industry? What interest do you see in participating in certain actions of the PAE project?

The PAE project allows to identify, reference, promote and connect companies, structures and organizations of the Greater Region, for them to develop collaborative projects to improve industrial performance with a business objective.

The Greater Region is the only one in France to border 4 countries, which is a major advantage. We are besides, already a member of the Pôle Véhicule du Futur, one of PAE’s partner.
